Paragliding Safari Tour
IN COLOMBIA
Discover Colombia – a country of extraordinary diversity, fascinating landscapes and ideal conditions for paragliding. Set amidst the green mountain ranges of the Andes, vast tropical valleys and traditional cultural landscapes, you can look forward not only to reliable thermals and spectacular flying sites, but also to a vibrant culture and warm hospitality. This trip combines adventure in the air with unforgettable experiences on the ground, making every day unique.
One country.
Endless skies.

Why This Trip?
This is more than just a paragliding trip – it’s a unique opportunity to get to know Colombia from every angle. We follow the Cauca River as it flows northwards and explore the most beautiful flying sites along the route between Cali and Medellín from the air. But there is plenty to experience on the ground too, and we immerse ourselves in a colourful culture, ancient traditions and a genuine zest for life. The combination of these elements makes this trip an experience that inspires and leaves a lasting impression.
Highlights of the Experience
- Piedechinche: Start your adventure in a relaxed manner with gentle thermals, straightforward flying conditions and ideal, open terrain for beginners to cross-country flying, or make use of the spacious official landing site.
- Roldanillo: Experience one of the world’s most famous flying areas, a venue for world championships, with strong thermals and excellent potential for long cross-country flights over the open valley.
- Anserma Nuevo and the northern Cauca Valley: Take off from the Western Cordillera and enjoy a variety of flying opportunities – from cross-country flights along the mountains to peaceful afternoon soaring in stable wind conditions.
- Jericó & the mountains of Antioquia: Fly over narrow green valleys, waterfalls and coffee plantations – against an alpine backdrop, surrounded by colonial charm and impressive Andean scenery.
- And every day: Colombian hospitality and zest for life!
More than just a flying adventure – where thermals meet tradition
Each day combines relaxed mornings, detailed briefings and guided cross-country flights – tailored to weather conditions and pilots’ skill levels. With professional guides, radio support and small groups, the trip is suitable for both XC beginners and experienced pilots.
Between flights, you’ll discover Colombia beyond the skies – staying in traditional fincas, exploring colonial towns, enjoying the local cuisine, dancing, playing tejo (Colombia’s national game) and relaxing by the pool. A special day off offers the chance for a horse ride on a large hacienda, giving you an insight into rural life and local traditions.

Pilot requirements
In the consistent and pleasant flying conditions of the tropics, it is usually easy to clock up plenty of airtime and cover considerable distances in Colombia – naturally, always within the limits of your personal ability. This makes the trip suitable for pilots of all experience levels. However, you must be able to take off and land safely on your own. Basic knowledge of thermal flying is an advantage, but you do not need to be an experienced cross-country pilot. Colombia thus offers ideal conditions for you to develop your flying skills and enjoy the experience to the full.
Itinerary Overview
Tour 1: Arrival in Cali – Departure from Cali
9–23 January 2027
Upon arrival in Cali, we’ll settle into our first accommodation in the Piedechinche flying area. The region offers ideal conditions for getting up to speed – so we’ll deliberately spend more time here and also visit some lesser-known launch sites.
Our route then takes us north to Colombia’s coffee region, with impressive flights from launch sites near Apía, Risaralda and Ansermanuevo.
Well-prepared, we finally reach the heart of flying in the Cauca Valley: Roldanillo – one of the country’s best areas for thermal and cross-country flying.
The trip concludes with a return to Piedechinche, where we bring the journey to a relaxed close.
Tour 2: Arrival in Cali – Departure from Medellín
23 January – 6 February 2027
This itinerary takes us steadily northwards: after the first few days in Piedechinche, we’ll fly the Western Cordillera around Roldanillo and Ansermanuevo, then explore various flying areas in the Risaralda region, before finally travelling on to the alpine-like landscapes of Antioquia.
There, we take to the skies from launch sites between La Pintada and Santa Fe de Antioquia, flying along wild mountain peaks and steep jungle slopes.
We’ll round off the final evening with a meal together and a drink or two in Medellín.
