Why This Trip?
Paragliding in Peru Will be always a discovery experience for every pilot that wants to come. Unfortunately, the paragliding community in Peru is not very large and there is not much information about the places to be flown.
Based on our own experience we have tailored a trip just according to what we think suits better for most of the pilots.

- Coastal cliffs of Lima – the perfect place to warm up, with smooth ocean lift and panoramic views.
- Paracas National Reserve – where desert meets the sea, offering reliable ridge soaring above pristine landscapes.
- Nazca & Cerro Blanco – home to one of the highest dunes in the world, a playground for true adventure.
- Atiquipa & the southern coast – remote, wild, and rarely explored flying zones with a unique atmosphere.
- Arequipa – a stunning finale, flying beneath volcanoes and enjoying one of Peru’s most beautiful colonial cities.

Paragliding Adventure Across Peru
Each location has been selected to offer a balance between flying quality, safety, and uniqueness, creating a journey that evolves from easy coastal soaring to more technical and adventurous environments.
This carefully crafted itinerary follows a southbound route from Lima to Arequipa, staying close to the Pacific Ocean and its desert ecosystems, where consistent conditions, vast open terrain, and dramatic scenery create ideal environments for unforgettable flights.

Itinerary Overview
Day 1 | Chancay / Carabayllo (Lima outskirts)
- Arrival & warm-up flying
- 🪂 First flights in Chancaylo or Carabayllo (depending on conditions)
- Focus: ridge soaring + skills check
✅ Soft start, ideal for group calibration
Chancay / Carabayllo (Lima Region)
Your first contact with Peru’s flying conditions. Located just outside Lima, these sites offer smooth coastal and inland ridge soaring — ideal for warm-up flights, equipment checks, and getting comfortable with local conditions.
Day 2–4 | Paracas
- 🚐 Transfer (~3.5–4 hrs)
- 🪂 Daily flying along coastal cliffs & desert ridges
- 🌅 Paracas National Reserve exploration
- 🐋 Optional: Ballestas Islands (morning)
One of Peru’s most reliable coastal sites
Paracas
One of Peru’s best coastal flying destinations, where desert meets the sea. Paracas offers reliable ridge conditions, vast open spaces, and spectacular landscapes within the National Reserve. A highlight for both flying and scenery. Paracas is a well known destination for kitesurfing, when the wind is too strong the option to go in the water is always there.
Day 5 | Huacachina → Nazca
- 🚐 Short stop in Huacachina possible flying and playing in the dune (Ica)
- 🏄 Sandboarding / buggy (optional)
- Continue to Nazca (overnight)
👉 Good transition day — mix of fun + travel
Huacachina (Ica Desert)
A natural oasis surrounded by towering sand dunes. While primarily a fun stop, it offers opportunities for sandboarding, buggy rides, and experiencing Peru’s iconic desert environment.
Day 6–7 | Nazca (Cerro Blanco Area)
- 🪂 Exploration of Cerro Blanco dune system
- Options:
- Desert flights (conditions dependent)
- Hike + glide potential
- ✈️ Optional Nazca Lines scenic flight
⚠️ More technical + wind-dependent location
Nazca / Cerro Blanco
Home to one of the highest sand dunes in the world. This area provides a more adventurous environment, with opportunities for dune flights, desert exploration, and optional scenic flights over the famous Nazca Lines.
Day 8–9 | Atiquipa & Camaná Coast
- 🚐 Drive south (~5–6 hrs total, split ideal)

🔥 Hidden gems — very few international groups go here
Lomas de Atiquipa
A hidden gem along the southern coast. This unique ecosystem combines desert terrain with seasonal green hills, offering smooth and scenic flying conditions in a remote and untouched setting.
Camaná Coast (La Punta)
A relaxed coastal region with wide beaches and open landscapes. Ideal for easy soaring, recovery days, and enjoying the ocean atmosphere with fresh seafood and a slower pace.
Day 10–13 | Arequipa (Final Base)
- 🚐 Transfer (~3–4 hrs inland)

- 🪂 Chilina Valley / Arequipa ridges
- Views of:
- Misti 🌋
- Chachani
- Pichu Pichu
Activities:
- 🏛️ Historic center
- 🍽️ Top gastronomy (picanterías)
- 🦅 Optional: Colca Canyon (1–2 days)
Arequipa
Known as the “White City,” Arequipa is surrounded by impressive volcanoes. Flying here offers dramatic views over valleys and volcanic peaks, combined with rich culture, excellent gastronomy, and beautiful colonial architecture.
Colca Canyon (Optional)
One of the deepest canyons in the world and home to the Andean condor. A breathtaking excursion offering dramatic scenery, traditional villages, and the possibility of advanced flying experiences. It is a long drive for a round trip in a single day, but all depends of the mood of the group.
Day 13 | Flight: Arequipa → Lima
- Domestic flight (~1.5 hrs)
- Return to sea level
Lima (Miraflores Cliffs)
A unique urban flying experience above the Pacific Ocean. The cliffs of Miraflores provide consistent lift and stunning views over the coastline — perfect for relaxed soaring and a memorable finish to the trip.
Day 14–15 | Lima Coastal Flying
- 🪂 Final flights in:
- Miraflores cliffs
- Alternative sites (depending on wind)
- Relaxed closing days
- Farewell dinner
